SURFADIOLS 9076

(Alternative to BYK-9076)

SURFADIOLS 9076 is a new type of polymer dispersant developed based on block polymerization technology. Its molecular structure contains multiple pigment affinic groups, which has strong adsorption capacity for various pigments. Its solvated chain segments have outstanding compatibility with various resin systems, and are widely used. It has excellent performance in reducing the viscosity of color paste, increasing the amount of pigment filling, and has good storage stability.

Special properties

  • • Improve the wettability of carbon black pigment and shorten the dispersion time.
  • • Reduce floating color separation
  • • Prevent carbon black pigment from reaggregating, and stabilize the color spread/tone of color paste.
  • • Reduce the viscosity of carbon black

Scope of application

  • 1. Particularly recommended for stabilizing acidic and neutral carbon black pigments.
  • 2. Suitable for solvent-borne and solvent-free coatings, adhesives, PVC plastisols, ambient curing resin systems, and for the production of color masterbatches for thermoplastics.
  • 3. It does not contain plasticizers. It is suitable for applications in contact with food.

Incorporation and Processing Instructions

For optimum performance, the additive must be incorporated into the millbase before addition of pigments.

Recommended Levels

Amount of additive (as supplied) based upon pigment:

Titanium dioxides: 1-3%

Inorganic pigments: 5-10%

Organic pigments: 10-25%

Carbon blacks: 15-50%

The above recommended levels can be used for orientation. Optimal levels are determined through a series of laboratory tests.

Package and storage

The standard package is 25kg plastic/iron drums, 18 drums per pallet.

Keep containers tightly closed in a dry, cool, and well-ventilated place. 

When stored in an original unopened packaging, the product has a shelf life of 24 months from the date of manufacture.
