SURFADIOLS 190

(Alternative to BYK-190 and TEGO-750W)

SURFADIOLS 190 deflocculates pigments by means of steric stabilization. As a result of the small particle sizes of the deflocculated pigments, high levels of gloss can be achieved and the color strength is improved. The transparency is also increased and the viscosity is reduced. In this way, the flow characteristics are also improved and higher pigment loading is possible.

Water-based pigment concentrates, architectural coatings, industrial coatings, automotive coatings, wood and furniture coatings, can coatings, protective coatings, leather finishes, aqueous adhesives, printing inks

Incorporation and Processing Instructions

Grinding should only take place in water (without binders, amines or co-solvents). Mix the additive with water and only add the pigments once the additive has been homogeneously and uniformly distributed.

Recommended Levels

Amount of additive (as supplied) based upon pigment:

Inorganic pigment: 20% – 30%

Titanium dioxide: 10% – 12%

Organic pigment: 30% – 75%

Carbon black: 130% – 150%

Fillers: 1-3%

The above recommended levels can be used for orientation. Optimal levels are determined through a series of laboratory tests.

Package and storage

The standard package is 25kg plastic/iron drums, 18 drums per pallet.

Keep containers tightly closed in a dry, cool, and well-ventilated place. 

When stored in an original unopened packaging, the product has a shelf life of 24 months from the date of manufacture.
