SURFADIOLS 103

SURFADIOLS 103 is a polymer dispersant specially developed for stabilizing inorganic pigments, such as titanium dioxide, iron oxide red, carbon blacks and matting powder. It also has an excellent performance in many organic pigments. SURFADIOLS 103 has good compatibility in solvent-based coatings.

Special properties
SURFADIOLS 103 is an excellent titanium dioxide dispersant, which can give better whiteness and hiding power.
It is also widely used to prepare matting paste, which can improve the directional arrangement function of matting powder and the uniformity of gloss, so that the paint film has a soft matting appearance. The finished paint can maintain its performance even after long-term storage.
The additives can also be used as a co-grinding dispersant to reduce grinding time, and can be used as an anti-floating and anti-flooding regulator in the subsequent addition process.
Scope of application
SURFADIOLS 103 was developed as a general dispersing agent for all solvent-based paints from high-performance industrial coatings to normal decorative paints. It can also be used in universal solvent-based pigment concentrates and matting agent pastes
Incorporation and Processing Instructions
For optimum performance, the additive must be incorporated into the millbase before adding the pigments.
Recommended Levels
Amount of additive (as supplied) based upon pigment:
Inorganic pigments: 5-10 %
Titanium dioxides: 2-4 %
Organic pigments: 20-40 %
Carbon blacks and Matting agent: 30-60 %
The above recommended levels can be used for orientation. Optimal levels are determined through a series of laboratory tests.
Package and storage
The standard package is 25kg pails, 18 pails per pallet.
Keep containers tightly closed in a dry, cool, and well-ventilated place. When stored in an original unopened packaging, the product has a shelf life of 24 months from the date of manufacture.
SURFADIOLS 103 may partially solidify when stored below 10 °C. Heat to 35–40 °C.
